Then
the angel said to the women in reply, "Do not be afraid! I know that you
are seeking Jesus the crucified. He is not here, for he has been raised just as
he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his
disciples, 'He has been raised from the dead, and he is going before you to
Galilee; there you will see him.' Behold, I have told you."
- Matthew 28:5-7

The
Resurrection is the cause of our joy and the source of our hope!
Father
Manna joins me in extending blessings and best wishes for a joyous Easter to
all of our parishioners and those who have joined us for this glorious
celebration.
Today
we celebrate Jesus’ triumph. He is
victorious and we are invited to share in His victory. Today we revel in the Risen Lord’s
Glory. Yet, Jesus reminds us, as He did
His first disciples, that He has entrusted the spreading of His “Good News” to
us. We are privileged to be able to call
Jesus both Lord and brother and to be able to depend on the strength and
guidance of the Holy Spirit. We are also
privileged to share in the building of His kingdom. It is important that we take the time to
reflect on the meaning and implications of Easter. Let us express our gratitude
to our Lord who loves us unconditionally and allow the wonder of this glorious
day to permeate and guide our lives.
Much
love and dedication has gone into making our Palm Sunday, Triduum, and Easter
liturgies so beautiful. I am grateful to
all those who shared their time and talent with us by participating in these
special liturgies. I am also grateful to everyone who assisted in cleaning and
decorating the church. Special thanks to Kathy Tabachnick and James Bagni, and
the members of our choir for sharing their musical gifts and making our
celebrations so beautiful.
We
congratulate those who participated in the Rite of Christian Initiation (RCIA)
process. We were blessed to welcome seven adults into the Catholic Church:
Heather Alek, George Evans, Emily Flores, Rebecca
Scorso, Ruth Spellman, Christine Zotta & James Zotta.
Their
journey to the Church reminds us that the Lord calls each of us by name. Also
we thank Jeremy Himelberger, Macy Jordan, Anita Pescosolido, and Don Wheatley
who helped to facilitate our parish RCIA program.
May the grace and peace of the Risen Lord be with
you always!
